I weighed 166 lbs. on Thursday, which made me very happy. And then a dear friend showed up unexpectedly from out of town on Friday, and the diet sort of went to hell. Well, not REALLY to hell … just a bottle of wine, some beer, and 3 meals that included carbs (but reasonable meals!) over the weekend. Oh, and I went on a 15-mile bike ride Saturday. So it’s not like I locked myself in a closet with a container of lard or anything.
Still, this morning … a 3 lb. gain, which brings me back to 169. Now the thing is, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I didn’t consume 10,500 calories over the weekend, let alone 10,500 excess calories. (3,500 calories allegedly equaling a pound of fat.) So, I’m not going to worry about it, and we’ll see what tomorrow brings.
The good news is that, even at 169.0, my BMI is now out of the “obese” range. I hate being fat, but the word “obesity” takes fat to a whole ‘nother level. I’m happy to return to the range of merely “overweight,” and look forward to “healthy.” The BMI calculator I used is here. To get to normal, I’ll need to lose 29 more pounds. With Dukan, can do!
The other exciting thing, my Dukan book has arrived! I didn’t have time to read it over the weekend (all that cycling and socializing) so I sat down with it today. I love it. He’s sooooo condescending about fat people. You know what? I don’t care. As long as the plan works, Dr. Dukan can look down his nose at overweight people all day long.
Speaking of all day, I swapped out my office chair for my balance ball today. Once upon a time I had a proper balance ball chair, but that was many moons (and many moves) ago. Today I just used the regular old blue exercise ball
that I bought a few months ago. After about four hours, I’d had enough. Still, “active sitting” is a better workout than just reclining on one’s fat bum, so I’ll keep using it for at least part of each day.
On the food front, breakfast was a piece of leftover flank steak, and a big tasty bowl of miso soup with tofu and green onions. Lunch was lean turkey lunchmeat, rolled around a few tablespoons of cottage cheese. Afternoon snack was a low-fat string cheese.
This evening I’m making Dukan galettes, baking chicken wings in a spicy Buffalo hot wing sauce, and deviling some eggs. Sugar-free black cherry gelatin for dessert.

The list of dukan safe foods consists of 72 foodstuffs of animal origin and 28 of plant origin.
Can I view the whole listing here? Later on when one will need some more detailed information on the above mentioned products how to check out an in depth analysis of the dukan Diet Safe Food List?
